Welcome to the Forum from Colorado. Enjoy!
Welcome from Mass, neighbor! Stay on here, watch the videos (especially Shug's), ans ask anything you want. They answers (and much more!) are all here! We have a lot of HF'er in New England, and many impromptu and organized "hangs". Look for the NEHHA (New England Hammock Hangers Association). Hope to hang with you someday!

Yes, there is alot of info and even video info. If you go on youtube and type in Hammock camping and or shug hammock camping. He is Funny and infomitive. I am a Vermonter but live in Missouri. I too have found Hammock camping a bast and it takes some work on making you stuff. If you go to www.tothewoods.net its also full of stuff and how to's.. Also If you go to www.amazon.com and type in Hammocks ENO has the best hammocks and also there cheaper then from the store its self. Also Hammock stands don't buy make one I have the best one I made and its was compiled from all the problems others had and I weight 270 and haven't broken and splite and wood and I have slept in it. If you want to know how to make one I can tell you how and even show pictures of it. and give you a list of what you need and the angle to cut the wood up rights. I am in the middle of making my under quilt now but my sawing machien is not working well. Anyways back to what I was saying. On Amazon get a book called "Ultamite Hang" Its Brown colored and you will see the picture on it. Its the best book around it give you all the ins and outs to hammock camping. I have found making "tree huggers" are very easy and simple. Now the rought part is finding the Elephent trunk or things like that. If you find any there are a few that are, well lets say not up to par so be awaer. Hennase Hammocks are equil to ENO but I think ENO is better. If you make your hammock. saw the ends and put a short strap though it its great. I didn't like the bunch up the end fold and tie this and do that. When you go to do the fold and saw thing put a couple of straps in the middle and one on each end for extra strigth. Also, Test out what you made before camping. I didn't one time and fell in the snow and also bring a extra seam sealer and sawing kit and buckles and lighter and sawing kit. its a always must someone forgets and may need it. Also one last thing watch the videos you pick up alot of info and design Ideas for things. Now as for getting a hold of me if your intrested in the hammock stand thing its [email protected]. There is a video on one but I found it was llaking some beef. If you watch people there always using there kids and not them. Okey that is what I know. I hope to hear from you and lets talk.

Welcome to the forums. Lots to learn here.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."
