Information about Rope Please

I wanted some reflective line to use on and around my Hennessy. I found some line/rope that is glow in the dark and reflective. It is nylon double braid over a nylon core. 1,000 pound tensil strength. Military (MIL-R-2405-D). I have no idea what any of the above means. I put it on my zipper pull, on my tie outs, anywhere I wanted to be able to locate something in the dark.
After reading some of the posts I am not sure if this stuff will hold up for me. I wanted to be able to find the hammock in the dark, and not trip over my lines.
The braid in the line, separates so it can be used for other uses, survival stuff...that I am unlikely to use, but than one never knows when their situation might change.
Is this stuff okay to use, is it going to fall apart in a year or two?
Will it stretch too much when I tighten down my lines, or when it pours?
Anything else I should know?

All nylon stretches. Probably not the best cord for tarp tie-outs, but if you use shock cord tensioners, it should be just fine.

1000lb break rating? that's completely overkill for tarp and tie-outs... if weight isn't an issue, I guess it doesn't matter...

I bet you get years of use out of it.

Thank you, for the reply, I just am not sure what all the information means. What does elongated at break mean? I was not clear on how nylon core would work, however I guess that is what I need. The line really shows up nicely at night. I put a little piece of the braid on my dogs collar, so she is easy to find when I shine a light.

"Elongated at break" means how far the rope will stretch before breaking. If you have an 100" piece of this rope and load it to the breaking point, it will be 130" to 135" long before breaking.

nylon's UV resistance is not as good as polyester, but it should work just fine for your uses.

As mentioned, it really stretches a lot.

It seems pretty thick for zipper pulls and such. Other products like trip tease and other reflective lines would be much lighter. I also think there is a 550 cord / paracord with reflective properties now. It is also nylon, but pretty cheap and probably lighter than the product you are looking at.

As far as glow in the dark, I haven't seen any lines first hand that glows in the dark. You could always pick up some glow in the dark powder that you mix with epoxy. I've seen some knife handles and other things made with this stuff. Pretty neat.

It is a little overkill, but not bad, my dog pulls a cart with my gear in it now days. She does not mind a couple of extra ounces. I like the glow in the dark, and reflective or at least most of the time. If I want to be invisible, I will put the stock stuff back on. Heaven forbid I throw out something.

I just was not sure what some of the other properties were. How long the stuff would last, I know some things fall appart quickly if left outside.
Plus I was not sure what "Elongated at Break" meant. Now I know.

Instructibles, had some information about painting your bike with Glow-In-The-Dark paint, they gave references of material that really works. I am going to use some of that to paint foot steps from the sidewalk up to my front door.
