I actually hiked the foothills trail from sloan bridge to the road to the hatchery, walked the road to the hatchery because I wanted to see how my dog would react to the fish tanks, and then took the east fork trail from the hatchery to where we camped. I highly recommend taking that route if you like to cover a little more distance -- its a nice hike especially because of one huge waterfall a mile or two from sloan bridge.

The hike is 100% downhill. Pod was nice enough to give me a ride from burrels ford to my truck so I didn't have to do the uphill hike out, but I think next time I'd like to give it a try, using the hoothills trail rather than the east fork to make the return route a little different.

Hey, I thought the story we were going to stick to was, the tempest arrived with all Gods fury. Our tarps and hammocks blew away and we were left huddling in a fetal postion crying out for our mommies. But I could be mistaken. Had a great time and met a bunch of cool people.

That would have been a "story" for sure Yawl seemed like you were having too much fun to let a little storm bother you much! Maybe next time I'll be a little better "prepared and supplied"
