    Providence Canyon backpack trip

Just got back from a backpacking trip with some scouts to Providence Canyon near Lumpkin, GA. Temps were nice, and had several hours of dry weather to explore the canyons. Rain set in after supper and we all turned in around 8:00 p.m. to fall asleep to the rain. I love sleeping in the rain in the woods - talk about a good, deep sleep - especially in my ENO Double Nest. Love my hammock!

We backpacked and camped in sites along the 7 mile loop, and there is a smaller trail that overlooks the smaller canyons, and the trails in the 9 major canyons. The canyons were very interesting - amazing that man created these things by poor farming practices.
