    Blackcat tarp.

Okay I want to make a blackcat tarp and I've read the instructions, but what I want is to see a picture of a full tarp all made and finished laying out flat on the ground. Is there anyone here that can help me out. It's the kinda thing that I need to see so I can make it right.

I'd really appreciate the help! <3

Here's some quick snaps. I hope these are sufficient for your purpose.

How did you go about cutting the form for the cat cuts. I have read the directions posted by all of our "pro" tarp makers, but i cant for the life of me figure out how to transfer the curve to a pattern to cut the fabric. I just dont understand it. Any one have any thoughts?

I took a large piece of poster board and taped it to another to get the correct length. It doesn't need to be very wide, I just used it for the curve. I measured in per the cat dimensions along the length. Connected the dots to make a curve. Then cut out the curve. Line up the curve pattern with the side of the tarp. The side of the tarp should already be cut to the correct length. Trace the pattern and cut.

I take an 8 foot piece of tubing (I use plastic electrical conduit) and run a cord through it. I then tie the cord to itself making a loop. I then shorten the length of the cord till I get the curve I want. The one thing that I have found is not to make the arc as tight as I want, as it gets tighter (more of a curve) when the hemming is done.

The way I used to do it was whatever you have your template on - be it paper, cardboard, wax paper, etc - either place it above or below the fabric, and trace with a marker. Get it lined up with the fabric, and then either use a 4' ruler or piece of 2x4 or whatever you have around the house that's long and narrow to hold it down in place, and then trace. Remove the template, and then cut.
