Well everyone in my group had a great time also.
My wife and the two other girls had never camped before, at least not here in the states, and despite that and the Fri. night storm, they all were happy and said that they learned a lot and would continue to go on these trips. Their husbands had camped before but only in tents.
Now I just have to get them all up off the ground and become hangers.
A big thanks goes to everyone of ya'll who were so helpful, caring and informative.
It really made for an enjoyable trip.
P.S. Maybe next time we can have more demos and/or teaching sessions for all to learn more.
    Thanks again!

Charlie, we got to see a lot of gear this weekend. Rebbecca showed her UL water filter, my brother demoed his Emberlit-UL a few times, I got to check out Madox minibull stove, Rebbecca showed us her mod on the Sam's down jacket that was talked about on a thread somewhere, she also showed us her really cool thermarest top quilt, Tim demoed his nano flint and steel, I got to see a superfly and how the doors work, troy got a lesson in under quilts. There was a lot of this type of stuff going but you and your group never came hang out by the fire. To get the full benifits of a group hang you have to hang with the group.

Yeah, but you left out the part about how gorgeous it was gonna be. See you Friday, Tim.

Well Tim didn't mention how we almost got blown away like Dorthy Friday night. And he left out how great a cooker we got. Troy is the official cook now. That dude set the woods on fire with his Gumbo... I mean literally. they had to do a control burn the Sunday to clear out all the gumbo greatness, or cause it was on the schedule which ever.

Well I'll know for next time where all the action is.
In any case I'd still like to make a positive suggestion for improvement on any hang -- I think that a general announcement should be made for all hangers to hear, giving the agenda or particulars as to the what, when and where of the start of activities. Also, maybe volunteers could be lined up ahead of time to instruct or demo some skills, setups etc.
    Just my 2 cents.
Thanks to all for the great efforts.

Charlie, the hang was announced months ago. We had volunteers that set up the GROUP tarp, cooked, collected firewood, ect. You were more than welcome to suggest then or volunteer. The 16 of us talked several times about going to down to visit you 6 at your seperate campsite. JOIN THE HANG NEXT TIME!!!! and feel the love, otherwise dont complain.

Charlie I tried to put it nicely in my post yesterday. You get from a hang what you put in. You might have spent 5 minutes each day talking with the other members of the hang. You spent the rest of your time in your little camp. You had separate meals and your own little party in the woods. A hang is about getting to know others who have the same interest in things as you do and you made no effort to get to know any of us.

Our group hang isn't a Sandal's resort. No one is there to plan your daily activities for you to insure you have the most fun possible. It is up to the individual to ask for a demo or to volunteer for a demo. In the same aspect it is up to the individual to actually be present when said demo is announced. I most certainly am not going to walk to someone else's camp to let them know when they haven't left there camp and are a stranger to me.

Like I said in my post above, you get out what you put in. I can tell you first hand that Charlie you most certainly got out of the hang what you put into it.
