Thinlight Pad Between Hammock and UQ

    I have a 20* and 40* UQ.

Letting someone borrow my 20* and temps for my planned trip reach 32* at the lowest.

I don't really like using thinlight between my back and the hammock since it tends to bunch up. However, can I put the thinlight between my hammock and the 40* UQ?

This pad is roughly 25" wide and 50" long.

    Thanks.

I have the JRB torso pad which is basicly the same thing you have. I also have a UQ that is good by itself to around 25 for me, I use both and I am good down to zero. I think you would be fine if you used both.

My questions is more about the effect of putting the pad between the hammock and UQ. I believe most people put the pad above the hammock.

If you had a double payer hammock, I would put the pad between. Add some beads of silicone to it and it will stay put.

With a single layer, you have the choice of sleeping on the pad or, as you suggest, between hammock and UQ.

IMO if you sleep all the way through the might without ever moving, you could sleep directly on the pad. But, if you toss & turn like me, that becomes a nightmare. I would place it above the UQ, but be sure to cinch up the UQ nice and tight to support the extra bit of weight of the pad to avoid air gaps.

You may want to try this out in the backyard and have someone check for gaps.

i have put a pad between, but i used stiffer elastic cord to do it. i had to pull it up tight to eliminate air pockets. with just a 10 degree difference maybe just a short pad under shoulders and kidneys.
