Make yourself an excellent black cat tarp - you only need 8 yds. for that.
Better yet, use it for a tube-sock-tent, and change the top end panel on the head end to regular untreated rip-stop for breathability. You don't have to trust it to be totally waterproof then, only for stopping blowing rain/wind draft. A good cold/damp weather option. I need to post some instructions on the tube-sock.

I wouldn't trust it to keep me dry in a down pour.
I'd trust it once as a tarp with a steep pitch, until it failed, which hopefully isn't in the middle of nowhere on day 2 of a 4 day rain. A good option for backyard or car camping/hanging, though.

I now have three bolts of the W/M $1 bin material. One bolt I believe is 1.1 - 1.4 ripstop DWR Poly, one bolt 1.1 - 1.4 ripstop breathable poly(both bolts have the small squares), and one bolt of 1.9 breathable ripstop nylon(large squares). The woman in one of the stores told me that the existing fabric dept's will be open until the next re-model (6 mo - 1yr) for the stores in my area . So I am buying everything I can find for now.
Beer won't solve problems, but then again, neither will milk !
