    short notice AZ hang/fish

Ive got a group of hangers and wanna-be's going into the West Clear Creek Wilderness this coming weekend, the 28/29th of June. So far it is myself, Dirt4Dinner, and 2 non-hangers that are going to try out my hammocks. I'll be using my BMBH for the first time!
This is a very short, extremely steep hike that drops 750' in just less than 1/2 mile on the Tramway Trail- I have attached 2 pics of the area. (nope, not oregon, this IS Arizona!)
Im bringing my travel fly rod for the small rainbows that see very little fishing pressure.

I know there are a few hangers here in AZ and I promised to get something going so sorry for the short notice, but with 2 young 'uns its hard to forecast plans. Get in here!

West Clear is a perennial creek, trailhead is 6700 feet, daytime 85 overnight 49- much better than the expected 111° in Phoenix on Saturday. Im outta here! Much of the canyon looks just like this for its length of ~47 miles. A super neat trip involves hiking the entire length, but that takes 5-7 days. Here's a pic of a really cool side canyon/tributary that a couple of my friends did. The interesting bit is that the Tramway trail had an actual tramway that the FS would use in conjunction with AZgame&fish to stock trout in the creek. It has been out of service since the late 1970's so either the rainbow trout here are native born, or they have migrated upstream from the only stocking access about 40 miles away.

hey, Coffee, my wife is an EE with General Dynamics. If they hire you, she gets $3000 and, BTW, we moved here from Cinci when I was a kid in first grade, 1978. (the shug effect)

Sounds like a great hike! Some of the best hiking I have done is in AZ an UT.

Anyone know of any project management jobs in Flagstaff?

Oh man, my mouth is watering. I did a solo trip in that canyon when I lived in Flagstaff over 20 years ago, during my ground dwelling days. It was a magical place, but it is also where I discovered ( at age 35 ) my new found sensitivity to poison Ivy ( or Oak, whichever it was, it ate me up)!

Man, you are lucky to live in a place with views like that nearby. I'm Jealous, and wish I could get there. If I quit my job, divorced my wife, sold my house............
