Touring cyclist from UK seeking better sleep

Guys, thanks for the excellent forums. Already learnt a lot here but as others elsewhere have mentioned, there's actually so much info and opinion that at times it confuses!

I'm just about to post in this thread looking for advice, and I hope it's not considered a hi-jack as I've got plenty of questions for the experts.

Nice to be here and although I have little to offer (unless anyone wants to ask about cycle touring!), I hope any answers to my questions will help others.

    As you were, chaps.

Welcome from a cycle tourist in Indiana!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Ha! We have the same taste in bikes - 3 tours across the USA.

    welcome

    Welcome to HF.
I like to ride as well. I have a jamis 650b1, Scott S40 speedster, and a Diamondback insightrs. I am interested in biking the blue ridge parkway and hammock camping along the way if I can.

    Thanks for the welcomes!

I ride a Hewitt Cheviot SE, so not too different from a LHT. Her name is Doris.

Riding in the UK is wet but short-lived, since it's small enough to spit across. Not too hilly either, so a good place to start. We've cut down most of our trees, though

Cool...maybe some day I'll make it over there. A hammock is great but what if you're touring where there aren't trees ?
