Ohio hangers -- need some info

A couple of my buddies wanted me to join them for a little backpacking in Shawnee (sp) State Forest. They're ground dwellers, so I thought I would come here and ask what the Ohio State Park's policy is towards hanging. I know here in Florida, the state parks have a strict no hang policy.

As always, thanks in advance for any helpful information.
The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog.

All of our hangs so far have been at state parks. No restrictions as far as I know, but we generally only camp on primitive sites. They might take more exception in a developed campground, but then again they may not care there either.

Worst case, call ahead to the ranger station and make sure they don't have any restrictions.

I hope not, hoping to get out that way in the next month or two

I've never experienced a problem hanging in Ohio's State Parks. I try to avoid the busiest areas during the warmer months though.

Shawnee is a State Forest, rather than a park, and it has a backpacking trail. We've hung hammocks at both Mohican and Zaleski State forests, and never had a problem. The rangers have more problems to deal with anyways, what with the drunks on four wheelers throwing trash everywhere.

Here's a brochure for the trail. No restrictions mentioning hammocks. I would say with 99% certainty that you're fine, but if you're still concerned, it can't hurt to call.

Every one pointed out the majors... but as always, leave no trace.

I've never had a problem hanging at shawnee, although I only have once. I'm sure they wouldnt mind. Even then, the camps are tough hikes, I doubt there are rangers back there frequently.
