I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I'm really at 200 lbs. and not 210 lbs. Extra 10 lbs is my buffer. So is the consensus that this stuff may not be the best for me to make a single layer ghost hammock. I really liked the idea of a sub 1 lb Ghost. Anyone think this material will hold me and should just go for it? Can I make a Ghost as a double layer?
Girotogo...go for it. Just don't dig your shoe heals into it. You can always add a second layer if needed.
Definitely interested. I'm at 180# and reallyy want to make a single layer out of the group buy stuff. Waiting to hear about other's successes and (hopefully not) failures.
I lay in a 1.1 single, and I'm 210# - ish. It stretches, but is really comfortable.
A DL would be more comfortable, as the stretching issue is less.
I say go for it.
Here's my favorite hammock I've made so far... http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=47519
it's based loosely on this design, without the shelf: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...hlight=warbird The beast is over 11' of fabric, my current design is 10'6". If you're 6' or taller, 11' is great..

FWIW...an earlier poster stated this was a 1.0 oz/sy material and I agree. By my calculations and scales, I came up with 1.03 oz/sy.
At 175 lbs., I have done a "quicky" no sew, gathered and lashed test hammock that was comfy and stretchy. As I'm not a gram counter, I prefer this material used in a double layer build (finishing my second one today).
