Would like some advice on fabric for a DIY hammock

Here is what I'm thinking, let me know what you think.

Me: 6'2" x 345lbs

The DIY hammock: I want strength and I'm willing to carry a little extra weight to get it so I was going to make a double layer. Outside layer 1.9 RS nylon, inside layer 70 denier taffeta. Or would you go both layers 1.9 RS nylon? Other ideas?

It's my understanding that the "ripstop" fibers add little strength to the fabric. Their function is to attempt to control small tears. The combination of 1.9 RS and 70D taffeta (~1.9oz) should work well and provide roughly the same strength as two layers of 1.9 RS.

DIYGEARSUPPLY.com sells a 2.8oz plain weave nylon. Hammocks made of it have been favorably commented on here.

I have grown used to and now fond of plain weave that may be almost that heavy with Clark hammocks, where I have no sense of local stretch stretch. Whatever Clark uses is a tight weave, less porous to air than 2 layers of the ripstop 1.1-1.5 nylon Clark uses for the non-bed parts of their hammocks or 2 layers of Warbonnet's 1.7 hammock bed material.

Plus, as I understand the taffeta feels better on the skin......... What I did not know was the 70D was equal to 1.9. Fabric is confusing.

Yeah, 70D ripstop is 1.9 oz/sq yd so the taffeta has to be close. You could just use two layers of it as well.
