    UQ protection

I have an Incubator UQ from Hammock gear. Should I get some DWR spray and treat the outside of my UQ to protect it from some of these summer showers?

That or a light piece of DWR fabric for a bottom cover.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

As far as I know, HG quilts already have a DRW treatment on them. I've really put mine to the test and didn't have any issues and it was day 1 that I 'tested" it out.

If you don't trust it you could get a UQ protector from 2QZQ

I'd PM adam and ask how/if to treat his product.

The HG UQs are DWR treated already (unless you washed it?). That's why he doesn't carry the coyote brown any more - he couldn't get one with a DWR. Mine was shedding tons of water a couple weeks ago, when my tarp was putting down a stream straight onto it.

There are several DWR treatments on the market for ones that have worn out. REI recommends something like Nikwax or ReviveX.

Proper deployment of your tarp. In the early days I picked up a JRB weathershield. Multipurpose item. Protect the uq, grounding sheet, extra layer of protection when grounded. Even used it as make shift wind poncho. No real need for protecting the uq if tarp is set up properly for the conditions. One less item to pack if there is a 100% chance I will find suitable trees to suspend from.

Yep I was thinking about Nikwax or ReviveX, I can get it locally i think. Probably dont need it but just dont want anything to happen to my UQ. I really love it.

I just have the smaller sized Protarp right now but am fixing to order either the Big Daddy or Mamajamba. Its just the afternoon storms here blow in quick and pour down hard. I dont want to get caught away from my setup when the rain moves in and have left the setup in porch mode. I have not washed it and have babied it since I got it.
My OCD is in overdrive Im sure, it should be fine I know...

If you really want to keep it dry im22sniper, then get an underquilt cover (like 2QZQ or DreamHammock's) or get a Superfly that you can really batten down into tent mode (with closed doors).
