Can a Cuben cover two hammocks (double hang)?

Hi there, new hammock junkie here! While my girlfriends are thinking of shoe shopping and manicures, I think of sleeping in my hammock!!

I started hammock camping a few months ago, and while hiking Mt. Washington with my daughter a couple weeks back, she decided she liked my HH Exped better than the tent. I just received my zip HH Hyperlite (gave her the bottom entry Exped).

We are going backpacking in a few weeks, and I am thinking of a double hang. I have a HH Hex silnylon, but keep thinking of the Cuben. Less weight, love the idea of seeing moon and stars and sunrise....***sigh***...

Since it is 1.5 feet more narrow, am I going to fit two hammocks? Can you show me pics if you have done this?

    Thanks a bunch!
    Amy

I have not done this. But I have seen ove&under hangs with the little ones above. That might be handy to make sure the daughter doesn't wander off in the middle of the night (assuming she is a little one, of course).
The road to success is always under construction.

Actually she is a teenager and goes to bed before me and gets up later! Teenagers sleep sooo much! She is also a little bigger than me, so that's why I gave her the heavier hammock. I figured with my zip, I could hang on the bottom and still get in and out....

I'd think in mild weather you may be okay, but if you had a windy rain you may run into trouble.

Check out dejohas Hang Calculator for how high each set of tree straps would need to be hang. As in each our your individual weights, tree distance and prefered height to hang.

i used a 10-11 jrb tarp over 2 hammocks (son forgot to pack his tarp) in light rain and it worked. foot ends were tied to one tree. head ends tied to 2 trees 3 ft apart. i don't think my 8'-8" by 11' cuban would work for this. maybe someone has a JRB HUT tarp to sell
