    30 Mile loop near Ohio?

I am planning a 30 mile (maiden voyage with my WBBB) backpacking trip. Does anybody know of a 30 mile loop near NE Ohio? I have done Allegheny NF a lot so I am in search of something different..... Thanks in advance!
I thought you were bringing the toilet paper...

There is the Eastfork State Park Newman perimeter trail, 32 miles. Little farther south though.

Have you been to oil creek state park in titusville, pa? One loop of the Gerald Hiking Trail is about a 50k. Great trail. I've done hundreds of mile on that loop, it never gets old.

Laurel Highlands Hiking trail is another great one that's not too far of a drive. 70 miles point to point so you'd have to do an out and back. My personal local favorite.

Raccoon creek state park in Clinton is also close. It has a 20 mile loop but is nice as well.

    First off, welcome from Canton!

Unfortunately, in NE Ohio itself, we got nuthin. The closest place that you can hike and hang in the state is Mohican State Forest. The state forests use designated sites, so it's a little different than Allegheny, where you can set up anywhere.

We're having a group hang at Zaleski State Forest this weekend: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=48560

It's a longer trail (I think 22 miles total), but there are only 3 designated campsites.

The suggestions over in PA are probably better for what you're planning. The national forests generally have more options...I tend to go to Dolly Sods in WV 4 or 5 times a year, but you're looking at a 6 hour drive, minimum.

Let me extend an invite to this weekend's hang if you want to check out some setups and get some hands-on experience.

in southeastern ohio, there is a network called the twin valleys or twin creeks metro parks. there is a network where you can do up to 44 miles of hiking. it may save you from having to drive 6 hours to dolly sods. its a hour and a half from columbus to the west.
