Thanks for the welcome neo. Anyone know if the supplied webbing (JH) is strong/abrasion resistant enough for ring setup? In all the pics the webbing looks different from mine.
    Thanks again.

Strength is not the issue with the original straps...moisture my friend!
The original straps wick water! So , when it rains, the rain migrates downhill to your hammock (if used on the hammock side of the rings/buckle) and you lay in you hammock bathtub!
If the original strap can be used tree side of the rings. It will stretch allot but I guess it will eventually settle in. I replaced it because it wasn't long enough, didn't have an end loop for around the tree and I didn't like the stretch.

Plenty of threads on here about this subject...read away!

Thanks for all the input - SLS looks very interesting, though, after 4 nights, I am not yet at the ridgeline stage - for the future.

I am planning to run the rope, single, through the sleeve and tie it off with a bowline at the rings. I will give about 8" when under load b/w the hammock and the rings - trying maximize room for lateral play in the sleeve (is there really any point to this - I don't know?)

Those who know their knots - is there something better than the bowline for joining to the rings?

    thanks folks - very helpful
