    Need a party hammock!

I had my ENO set up when i had a party last night. With 3 people in it, it was nearly touching the ground. With the 4th person we the hook on one side bent, we all ended up on our butts.

What I want is to have a hammock that 3 or 4 people could actually sit in. Obviously something heavy duty, durable, beer repelling.

That would be an easy DIY with some good heavy ripstop and some 7/16" amsteel for the suspension. Use some large ratchet straps for the tree huggers, you could be all set.

Go double layer with some 2.8oz plain weave from DIYGearSupply and it will be mega strong. There is a multitude of suspension options you could do, but raiffnuke's sounds good to me...

If your looking for a party hammock then you probably aren't looking for lightweight material. Consider using some cotton materials or get one of those hammocks where the body is made of rope thats made to hold two or more.

Get the Crinkle 90 Hammock from Dream Hammock (Poppa Smurf). The 90" wide by 132" long version with some 1/8" whoopies should easily be able to hold 3 or 4 average size people off the ground at least in a static load fashion. As for dynamic load testing, that may be another matter entirely.

    Cheers
