    Possible for NOBO prehike

I'm going to try to join the NOBO hikers. Expect details much later, but we should be able to manage a shuttle without needing to rent a van.

Now I'm torn between two hikes .. I might just have to bushwhack in from the east ..

Though there seem to be more folks inclined to NOBO than SOBO right now, that could change. There's still plenty of time! Since I've done the NOBO already, I'd rather cover some new terrain, as part of my quest to hike the entire AT one section at a time.

However, if we can't get a decent contingent for a SOBO, I might switch and go with the NOBO, for the camaraderie.

We will, after all, meet at Gathland. I look forward to seeing everybody there.

Well....you don't have to bushwhack if you took the Catoctin trail up to Thurmont, came across to the AT, and SOBO a bit.

I hike with a friend, KYBob, whose number one rule for ultralight hiking is: get someone else to carry your gear. Every time we go hiking he stuffs his pack full, then starts looking at the spare space in mine.

You and him would get along fine, MML.

Official Fall MAHHA thread here Trying something new on the Excel file. Since there were quite a few posts about the prehikes, I put a "Backpacking" sheet so people can post their plans there and at a glance everyone can see the different hikes. I think (hope) it could be pretty cool if people use it. It's not locked so anyone can update it.
