I not sure if this is the right place to post this and I know it a noob question. What does you use for a mat to put you feet on when you are getting in and out of your hammock or what do you use for a ground matt?

I use a 2' square piece of plastic that I trimmed out of a painting dropcloth.
I had a camo poly tarp that I started out as my hammock tarp. When I obtained a decent tarp, I cut that poly tarp up into 3 sections for each of our 3 set-ups. Some use Tyvek, some use the contractor trash bags, some use smaller poly tarps. Some use small sections, some use long sections. Play around with what you have on hand and figure out your personal preference on size.
Tyvek scraps are common too. It's not hard to make it a bathtub style mat with some tyvek tape, bit heavy for some though. With a thread injector and maybe an hour a nice one could be made out of silny.
I've used the plastic drop cloth for a long time, but as I'm looking to lighten up I'm planning to make one about 32x16
out of sil. That will give me enough room for my feet, my pack, & my boots; maybe even all at once.

I cut open a couple of large tyvek envelopes and taped them together.
Spare trash bag that I keep in my pack

I've used most of the things mentioned above. A 20" by 20" piece of foam can give you somewhere to stand at night when getting into or out of your hammock, a sit pad during the day, and be available as extra insulation for those times when it gets colder than expected.
Best thing I have found is piece of reflectix folds up nice makes a nice seat warm in winter. Great foot pad light weight can also use for insulation in your hammock. I carry several spread them out around camp for seats and on the ground tables. Great to put any thing on to keep it off the ground.

I use a white kitchen trash bag, it doubles as my backpack liner. The trashbag goes inside the backpack and all of my stuff goes inside of the trash bag just in case it rains. There are many uses for a trash bag while out in the woods.
