Turtle Lady stand shopping list?

I've decided to put together a backyard version of turtle lady's hammock stand and I want to put together a concise list of materials. Having never built one I figured I could use some collaborative help.
The tools I have to work with: skil, hammer, tape, speed square, 300 series dremel, drill, my two hands, and a couple years of putting together post and stick frame buildings.

What immediately springs to mind:
1 or 2? Fence top rails
6 2x3x8
So I guess the leaves the hardwear. I want the stand to be 5-6' tall and about 13' if that length is doable to accommodate tarps and long hammocks. So what sort of hinges? And suggested hardware? Fasteners? Readily available at my local Lowe's is a big plus.

A few pieces of rope to lash it together is all you have to have....or you can add hardware to make it as complicated as you want.

mine looks like gmcttr's version, works wonderful. Mine is made of larger trees and is a pain to move, so beware.

Forgot, I used 3/4" for the ridge pole. I left mine 10' as it came, they have some couplers ,

but I'm not sure I'd use that to make a longer pole. If I wanted a longer pole I think I'd get a piece of 1" or whatever is big enough to go over the 3/4" and cut it to say a foot long, and drill some holes and use pins to hold.

The coupler may be fine, but personally I'd just want more beef over the join.

Mine was 3 lengths of 1" Sch 80, each cut in half (so final was 6 x 5'), and one length (10') of chainlink top rail, cut in half (Home Depot will cut it for you). Plus paracord for lashing/spread limiters, and some good rope for the prussiks.

That gives me some food for thought.. I was leaning toward the 2x3 just for the ease of finding them. But I think that conduit might be the way to go. I wouldn't have to put a weather proof coating on those . Without digging through the original thread could someone point me to a diagram of effectively lashing the 3 uprights together? I'll probably use 7/64 amsteel because I have plenty on hand.

Don't waste the amsteel on lashings, just about any old cord/rope will do for lashing the tripod legs togeather. Save the amsteel for the important stuff!

Query: Doesn't paracord and other cheap stuff degrade in sunlight pretty quickly? As in, a hammock stand left out in the sun all summer will eventually fail at the lashings?

Does Amsteel (made for sailboats) stand up to the sun better?
