no, what the heat sealing just keeps the ends of the fabric from coming frayed. I like to use the knife attachment for my soldering iron for this in combination with a metal straight edge for nice clean cuts.

I see so I had the wrong idea all together. I've done this with a bic before
I've never heard of getting a rolled hem from heat-sealing. Heat-sealing is typically for protecting the edges of the fabric from fraying.
We all think about things to much and try to make things more difficult then they are lol
