    heat sealed ends

Would someone be so kind as to expand on heat-sealing the ends of raw fabric for diy projects I've tried tried this and it didn't go so well . So correct me if I'm wrong.... With the use of heat you can get a permanent rolled hem ?

no, what the heat sealing just keeps the ends of the fabric from coming frayed. I like to use the knife attachment for my soldering iron for this in combination with a metal straight edge for nice clean cuts.

I've never heard of getting a rolled hem from heat-sealing. Heat-sealing is typically for protecting the edges of the fabric from fraying.

Yeah it seams that way doesn't it . I kept reading about people suggesting to others that they should heat sealing the ends of their fabric. I just assumed they ment more than just running a bic lighter down the edge. I guess that's all they ment.
