Plus side is that y'all aint' complaining bout them skeeters too much. Really hated I had to miss this outing. As Hangnyak said it best, you all are a fine bunch of people to be around!
Thanks, richtorfla. It's not that hard, though; you just keep on keepin' on until the day is done. S'long as you have ten or twelve hours of sunlight, it isn't that bad.

And, Mike's right; the skeeters weren't too bad. I had a few the first night, but they were mostly absent due to the lack of standing water this winter. Honestly, those durned caterpillars were worse! And I did find one tick on my leg...but that's almost to be expected when wearing shorts down here.

Thanks, olddog. I appreciate you standing up and taking charge of this whole thing when others had to bow out due to real life concerns. Especially that water cache! We'd have had a tough time on Sunday without it, I think.

Great photos, emcee! I like the captions, too!

    Well, I'm an idiot...

It turns out that the camera I was using won't charge from a USB connection. My battery was dead. Fortunately, Mrs. FLRider isn't an idiot, and pointed out that we have a charger for the camera. An hour later...well...here's the rest of 'em...

    These are Saturday's photos.

    Last-minute trail preparation:

The caravan snaking out ahead of me:

An office chair in its "natural" habitat:

We passed through a variety of terrain:

A pair of photos of "Blue" Sink:

A couple of views from the hammock:

    Sunday's Photos

Dawn over the prairie, seen from the hammock:

I enjoyed "breakfast from the hammock", Shug-style:

By the time I was done and packed up, everyone else was doing breakfast down by the campsite proper:

And then we moved on out down the trail:

MADD777 that Spider Oak pic almost gives me the creepy crawlies. FLRider in that dawn shot I believe you caught proof of UFO's? It was in the sky and diffenately strange, couldn't have been as simple as a cloud formation. And that last pic, just a word of advice, smile you were suppose to be having fun

Glad Mrs. FLRider got that battery thing figured out.
Dawn from under the tarp was awesome!

Just noticed in 2 of the shots Grinder almost didn't move! Conservation of momentum? Wouldn't believe it if you saw him on the trail.

Hey olddog, I forgot to ask... did you buy (and maybe try on this trip) a merino wool shirt?

Not yet! Do you and MADD777 have a conspriacy to empty my retirement account?
You would have been proud of our restraint on building a fire Saturday night, that prairie was ready to explode, one spark and that pond would have been gone in seconds.
