    Hitches, Knots, or gadgets!?

I went and set up my new hammock setup today and I set up my tarp tied directly to the tree, and ran into some trouble finding proper torsioning.... so I need to come up with a new method. So my question is how do most of you guys torsion your tarps? I might be able to use the carabiner that my whoopie slings attach to to rig my hammock, as an attachment point, but I'm not sure what knot to use that will be effective on the small gauge line that I use for guyouts.

    Help!

Definitely have no idea what a dutch fly is...

And how would you use the figure nine to tighten down the tarp so it's not loose on the ridgeline? I use clove hitches on the stakes and just move them to tighten them up, but I have a hard time getting the ridgeline tight.

Note, I'm using two individual tieouts for the ridgeline

Figure 9's are rope tensioners. Check out the Nite Ize website to see how the are applied.

slippery taut-line for all. Allows for easy adjustments and easy take down in the am.

Tie a bowline in one end, put a micro-carabiner on there. This goes around the tree and clip the line back on itself. Easy.

On the other end, do a trucker's hitch. Guitar-string-tight if you want it. Finish the TH with a slippery half-hitch and you have easy takedown in the morning.

For me this works better with a continuous ridgeline. You could do the same if you attach your tarp to your ridgelines with prusiks but I think it would be odd/cumbersome?
