Help! Need a ride to Olympic National Park

I found out today that my ride from Seattle to the Olympic National Park is no longer available. I have been planning a 6-7 day backpacking trip and will be landing in Seattle Thursday morning March 22nd at 10:30am and meeting up with someone in the Bellevue area who will be lending me some equipment for the week and letting me crash on the couch for the night. A rental car for me at 24 will cost more than my round trip flight out there to begin with. If there is anyone who would be willing and able to help me get to the ONP on Friday March 23rd please let me know. Better yet if, anyone is interested in a weekend hang we can do that too. I can pay for fuel and maybe lunch or hook you up with some new whoopies or bag of soft shackle prusiks or guy lines for this spring.

    Problem Solved

Problem solved, turns out I know a guy who knows a guy who is willing to hook me up with a vehicle of my own out there. What are the odds? With that said, if anyone would still like to get together for an over nighter or weekend hang in the ONP lets chat.

    Hanging in Olympic NP

    Hey CryOTheWild

Were you able to hang in Olympic NP? I'm heading out there in August and plan on hiking part of the Skyline Ridge trail. Would love to stay off the ground. Thanks for any input!

In March I went out to the Olympic National Park and backpacked solo for 6 days in the Hoh rain Forest area and then hiked up along the coast at cape Alava and also spent a night at cape Flattery the farthest northwestern point in the lower 48 however Cape flattery is on the Makah Reservation and it is illegal. I ordered 8 foot tree straps from HH in Vancouver and had them shipped to a contact I mad in WA which proved most valuable. There were very few people when I was out there and still snow on the ground at the higher elevations as I worked my way up along the Hoh River trail which is about 17 miles long and well worth it. Bear vaults are "required" in most areas out there but I had to hang my food bag since the ranger stations were closed. One place you Must go is the "Take Home Fish Co." on Makah reservation. Best smoked salmon you'll ever have. I can send you more info on places to stop along the way and some more advanced hikes that in one case requires you to wait for low tide before crossing a river by literally walking 100 feet out into the ocean and around the mouth of the river where the water is less chaotic. Let me know if you would like any more info about hikes, or camping. If you have facebook I can show you photos.
