Be gentle. If you hammer them too hard, they can cut all the way tru the fabric.

A simpler but not as good looking option is to just burn a hole with a soldering iron.

For mine I made a small square with grosgrain (1/4") by sewing 4 pc together to make the box. Sewed that to the bottom of the bag, then used a blade to cut an "X" into the ripstop inside the newly sewn in square. The Legs of the X each went to each corner of the square. I folded the ripstop inwards, and sewed that down... perfect square hole that can't expand cause its reinforced.

    Hey dieseldeathstar,

I used a plastic grommet in a hammock bag (Sil-Nylon) after I tore out a metal one in a brand new AHE Hammock Bag by accident (long story) It was an easy fix and has held for the last two years.
    Take care,

Where can you get plastic grommets? I looked over all the usual places a few weeks ago and had to settle for brass.

My wife does my thread injecting, so, I'm not speaking from experience. Her machine has an automatic button hole maker. That is how she makes the holes the bottom of our bishop bags..........2 cents.

    Hey Gra_factor,

I got the plastic grommets at Canadian Tire. (Canada only) I believe Wal-Mart carries them in the camping section. If you can't find them, I can send you some.
    Take care,
