Help a Noobie out on Ridgeline length

Hey guys, Im new to this but have been reading up and ready to go put together a little suspension system.

If I am gonna hang whoopies from a D ring and want to run my ridgeline from those 2 D rings, along with the prussak knots,
about how much amsteel blue and what diameter will I need for a rough estimate?

Thanks in advance. You guys are great at helping us noobs haha

6 foot whoopies start with about 13 feet of Amsteel each, so you would need about 26 feet of 7/64.
As for the ridgeline, many of us use either Zing-it (yellow) or Lash-it (gray) in either 1.75mm or 2.2mm or Dynaglide. The usual starting length for ridgelines is arouund 83% of total length between your D-rings. Although lately I've see some members hanging with lengths over 90%.

Hope this helps and enjoy the elevation!

    Thanks Gray!

and for the ridgeline, is that length accounting for the Prussak knots as well?
If not, how much does each not take up about?

Just wondering so I dont have to buy a bunch of extra cord. Thanks

Prusik knots are not normally used in making adjustable ridgelines. Personally, I use a whoopie sling made from 1.75mm Zing-it with the adjustable loop length designed to be adjustable between 75% and 90%. You could also use a UCR.

Opie has a great page on his site that should help.

While you're at it, SloBro has a great post on Whoopie Slings.

And don't miss Grizz'z excellent video series on suspensions.

    Good luck!
