I didn't know what are to put this under, I hope I'm in the right spot. Has anyone tried to hanging a gear hammock from their ridgeline, and does it work? Thanks in advance.

I use my JRB pack cover as a gear hammock strung from my hammock ridgeline. Hangs from 2 rings suspended 5" down from prussiks which allows plenty variation in placement. Works great for me.

I've seen lots of ridge line bags inside hammocks. I've seen many gear hammocks hung beneath ones hammock. I don't ever recall seeing a plain gear hammock inside... I think I would likely hit my head on it if it hung low. but hey HYOH, go for it.![]()
If it's small enough, I suppose it could work. When I tried mine on my ridgeline I felt that it was covering me, maybe even omprssing my top quilt. I didn't like it. I put it off to the side now.

Mine is attached to the ridgeline, but hangs off to one side. Wouldn't work with integral netting.

I have been using my pack cover above me for a while. I got the idea when I hung my son above me. Just installed a ridgeline last week and am in the process of adding prussic loops at attach my gear hammock. Previously had zing-it whoopie slings for my gear hammock pack cover.

I guess I'm asking cause I got two spare pieces of 3ft by 3ft of rip stop, I was going to use one to make a compression sack, the other I'm playing with the ideaa of a small gear hammock, or Pocket to hang from my ridge line, I'm trying to way the pros and cons f each. Thanks for the input. Do think a pocket would work better then a gear hammock?
