I was first?? Does it not go by dibs?
None of my business, but there are two tarps, right?
yes it does and you should have had first crack at them...
you can always PM a mod for help on any issue
here is the rule on it
1. Always make an "I'll Take It" type post in the thread where the sale is advertised. This creates a public record of the intent. Posts *always* over-ride PM inquiries when there is a debate.
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
Please only post sale items in this forum and lets stick with the established protocol. The other post should never have been posted there.
"Civilization is the limitless multiplication of unnecessary necessities." - Mark Twain
“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” - John Burroughs
I 100% agree with this when the PM originates from the FS thread in question and the rule clearly applies. However, when the PM inquiry begins before a FS thread is started and a deal is reached before any post in the FS thread, does that same protocol apply?
I agree with NCPatrick on FS offers only being posted in the FS thread, because it rules out most all exceptions and grey areas. However, there is always room for an exception where the originating post isn't clearly offering something for sale and the proposed buyer PMs out of curiosity. The original poster realizes that there may be interest and meanwhile posts it in the FS forum, all while continuing the PM conversation with the proposed buyer. The buyer/seller then reach an agreement via PM with the buyer never realizing there is a FS thread on the item. After this, a second buyer posts a dibs post in the FS thread.
I'm torn on the issue and am obviously not a biased party because I have a stake in the deal and am buying them both as gifts.
