Post Bear lodge mountains of wyoming

An over night in the Bear Lodge mountains of Northeastern Wy. As the temperature was rising the need for a day off from work was growing! As that day arrived I was packed and ready to run. The Bear Lodge mts of Wy are the extreme northern part of the Black Hills system. Anyhow, with my WBBB packed and ready to go I was off. I hiked the most of the day taking in the amazing mountain view. I stayed on the sunny side of the mountains and hills to avoid the snow that still hangs around. The valleys had fast flowing creeks rushing from the snow melt. And best of all peace a quiet, not a sole to see of hear. But why talk about it when I can show it. As a side note, there are miles and miles of hiking trails, to be explored.

    Wow...

Now, that is some big country. Absolutely beautiful. I wish I could make it out that way some day; the northwest is one of those areas that looks like it just makes you aware of how small you really are compared to the world.

Thank you for sharing with us!

Great pics! What's up with the whitetail still having his antlers? They should be starting a new set soon. I know if nutrients are good, some keep them till spring, but not very often.

here in the black hills if we have gentle winter alot of whitetail will keep their antlers into march, not all of them, but some and this has been the nicest winter we've had in probably 5 years
