fair enough, I found a down bag for $80 I'm thinking with a hole in the hood and foot ends I could have under and over quilt. any experience with anything like this?Originally Posted by hangnout
Yes, sleeping bag mods have been done by quite a few folks here.
The problem is that unless the bag is oversized, it doesn't leave much room in the hammock to move around or lay in a diagonal position. It does work though.

I did it with my Western Mountaineering Alpinelite 20º bag. I added a small TQ and UQ as it was real cols weather.
Totally doable.
