    Yahoo featuring a hammock article!

Some of the comments are pretty funny to read.

MOST of the comments are pretty ignorant. Although the "hot pocket for bears" made me chuckle.

Curious if anyone has tried one. seems to take care of the issue of flat insulation and an uq, but on the topic of yahoos article, it is simply an advertisement and im glad many of the comments picked up on that.

No diagonal lay possible there.... the comments were the best!

Exactly! Without diag lay, it would not be that comfy at all!

I don't know what the heck it is with non-woodsy people but in general they seem to have an obsessive fascination with bears. When I tell people where I take my vacations at least one person exclaims, "Weren't you attacked by bears?!"

I have started responding, "Yes, there were two. But I fended them off with my pocket knife and my left fist."

It has to be the same irrational fear that causes everyone I know to ask how I kept the serial killers stalking the woods at bay. No need to fend them off, just coat your hammock in Serial Killer Repellent (tm).

doesn't bother me! Just means less folks cluttering up my hiking and camping areas!

    I encourage the bear stories!

The "non-woodsy" folks out there obviously know something we don't....a tent keeps campers safe from bears but hammocks attract mean wolly beasts like moths to a flame.

When "those" folks ask about bears and other dangers in the woods always, always tell stories of absolute horrors of the outdoors....hopefully it will help to keep them indoors!

Once a person asked how i clean my laundry. I said that i carry a portable drying and washing machine. She actually believed me and she still does to this day. I figured she isnt worth my time explaining it if she wasn't able to pick up on my sarcasm. lol
