    Help Me Choose!

Hi, I am new to this forum. I am amazed at the wealth of experience on this site; and very overwhelmed at the same time. I have never camped in a hammock before. I am looking at getting a high quality hammock that will last for years. Things I definately want are: double layer, removable bug net, ability to use as a chair and same company offering a rain fly with 4 tie-outs. Could anyone help with this decision? Thanks for your time. Jason

Hennessy Hammock Deep Jungle Zip with Hex Tarp option fits the bill but may not fit the budget.

It sounds like you may want to talk with Papa Smurf. He's the king of "hammocks the way you want them." I'm not sure why you want the tarp made by the same manufacturer, unless it's to combine shipping.

What is your budget? If I started over again I would start with a used hennessy. Everything you need except for the double layer. You can order a hex tarp instead of a reg asym if you order a new one. Also are you sure you want a double layer? Most try to use a pad and end up getting a underquilt because the pad can be a pain to use.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NExUyaEz8cA idk if its double layer, and its the bug netting isnt removal, but you can flip the hammock over and have the bug netting on the bottom. as shown in the video.
