I just got back from a week of scout camping in North East, Md(Camp Rodney) and thought I would share a couple of photos.
I set up two hammocks for my week stay. My HH for sleeping & my very first hammock I ever bought(cheapy on EBAY) that I came across when I was digging out my gear for my lazy boy chair. I had forgotten about it since I use other hammocks and thought It must be lonely sitting in all my gear and took it along.
I also took a few crazy creek hammocks & LEX for the boys to hang in around the campfire. Two boys brought travel hammocks and at one point they had 6 hammocks that was always occupied by a couple of scouts per hammock. They duct taped a boy in one of the hammocks while he was napping, but I missed the opportunity to get a picture( I was laying out a 1.5 mile orienteering course for rank advancement).
Another thing the boys did was have contest on who could wrap themselvess in the hammock, then flip it and see how long the could stay in up side down.
Very amusing.
I set up my hooch on the perimeter of the campsite for privacy and really enjoyed having a base camp for a week vs. the set up at night and pack up for the next day.
We had 3 nasty storms and I stayed dry using the SG tarp on the lounge hammock and the stock HH tarp on the Henessey.
The leaders had a cabin but I obviously opted for the hammock.
They gave me crap about wanting to sleep with the bugs and humid weather, but I dont go to the woods to stay indoors.
On the 5th picture you can see one of the boys hanging upside down.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
