Well I've been tent hiking for years (mainly in East Tennessee on the AT and in surrounding areas) but I've recently slowed down to only a couple of hikes a year due to the arrival of my baby boy. I got the chance to try out someone else’s hammock on the last trip I was on and loved it, and since most of the trips I take now are extended weekend trips (mainly to fly-fish) I'm thinking I don't really need a tent anymore.
I've got a quick weekend hike coming up at the end of April and I'm trying to do a little research on which hammock would be best for me. Unfortunately I'm tall and fat so my choices are limited.Plus I'm still a little hesitant because I mainly prefer to sleep on my stomach and side.
It looks like I may have a lot of reading to do over the next couple of days but thankfully this seems to be a pretty knowledgeable forum!
