any one bought on of these and cut it up to make a top quilt? seems like it would be great fpr summer camping at only 9 ounces. maybe less once it is trimmed up right.

I considered it, however with the price, I could use that money as a solid down payment on a down UQ
I use one .. I had it well before hammocks invaded my life .. I still haven't cut it yet .. considered it often .. since compression has no effects on it I' tend to like it as is .. it is a bit of a PTA to get into while using it in a hammock .. they are very effective and true to the rating ..

Hey Black Wolf, what kind of temps do you think this could handle with a 20 underquilt and this for a top quilt?
Hard to say .. clothing worn would have a lot to due with a max low .. I can say I'v used mine with a 20*F factional U/Q .. a 40-45*F T/Q and have been below twenty .. so again depending on what clothing you have .. max maybe mid 40's .. mid 50's plus would OK .. above 60 at night as a low.. just fine ..
