Looking for ideas/suggestions on how to use tarp with doors both in use and not

    Hey everyone,

I have a Superfly tarp that I am going to be taking out to camp in a couple of weeks and had a question. I've never used a tarp with built in doors but I've been thinking about how to rig the doors for both in use and not in use. I'm trying to keep my bulk to a minimum in my gear. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I roll the doors up and hold them back with clothespins. Someday I'll get ambitious and sew on some strips of material so I can tie the doors back when not in use (most of the time).

When I use the doors, I try to find something around camp to tie their lines to - a rock or log, so I don't have to carry extra stakes.

Whatever you do, don't leave the doors and their guylines hanging to flap in the breeze - the line will tie itself up in knots

Just got my Superfly. Added short piece of shock cord like is on WBBB with loop on one end and a cord lock to each door tie out, then I just pull cord from opposite corners along side up where pull outs are and hook loop from one cord around cord lock of other cord. Stays put nicely. Clear as mud?

I just connect the door tie outs to each other on the inside of the tarp with the cordage I use for tie outs. it keeps the doors up against the side panels and keeps the cordage out of the way too.
