    I Cheated Today!!!

I cheated today with no remorse and the end results got me a newly acquired quilt!!!

I took a Golite Sleeping bag, the one without the zipper...never used...just hung in my closet taking up space. No one liked it because it was so hard to get in and out of.

I torn the thing apart and turned into a quilt Very easy and I HATE to sew.
I did leave the foot box in tact though. Now I will see how it does next weekend, as far as comfortable and keeping me warm.
I will be testing out the new Bod i Bag as well as the quilt ...Yay!

You live in Hawaii, right? How do you have to worry about getting cold???

Rarely on Maui ( just 3 times in the last 15 yrs )....but Big Island every year.
Also I hike and camp on the slopes of Haleakala and a few days back it got down to 30 degrees and with the never ending trade winds it is even colder really, if you count in the chill factor.

    Yep it snows here too...

I still say next year's campout needs to be in Hawaii, or with our friend down under.

Its not that bad. Columbus to the big island is only $750. Could be cheaper if we shop around a little.

Give it time, the idea will grow on you.

    Mahalo

    Thanks Frolicking Dino...

And I would love for any of you to come here for a visit/hike of course.
But why Big Island? They say of course "Mo' Bettah" Big Island but I say
"Maui No Ka Oe" which means Maui is the Best!!!

I do have a brother on the Big Island...so I guess I am past due for a visit
I think we have more hiking areas...but alas we do not have a erupting volcano to see.

Once I get this John Muir Trail hike out of my system...I think I need to start saving for the AT next
