Anyone ever build a DIY Switchback?

Ok I am am a big man and I am at the point that I get nervous in my hennessys since the two I have are rated at 250 and I am a hefty 270. I know they have a safety rating under what they can hold and such but its just the gnawing thought of it all going rip so I I have decided to make a double bottom hammock from 1.9oz ripstop that will according to BB be rated @ a mind comforting 400lbs.

I have 8 yards of it coming and have been looking at several hammocks out there and would like to try and build a diy switchback but have not found much on it. Can anyone help with the cut and lay of the hammock?

What is the difference between the channeled end and gathered end hammock?

    Re:

I have made many DIY SB's, there are by far one of the easiest of the netted hammocks to make. Nice thing about DIY-ing it you can go a little wider and eliminate some things. I can help you with any questions you may have.

Indeed the Switchback netting system eliminates a lot of challenges of an attached net. That's because the net is suspended separately and tolerances aren't important.

The Switchback has a channel end, which simply means that a couple off inches of the end is folded over and sewn. I do this twice to have more layers of material in the channel. Then simply run your suspension line through that channel.

The hammock is just a rectangle. Make it whatever length and width best suits your size. The Switchbacks are 48" wide.

IIRC the switchback is designed similar to the DD and claytor hammocks, rectangles for the bed (with channel ends), and rectangles of bugnetting of the same size/dimensions sewn at the short ends with zippers along the long ends. Since the geometry is simple, it is easily customizable for a DIY'er.
