    Hi there MedicineMan,

Your bikes are well set up with the saddle bags and all. It would be pure joy to be able to ride around there with a locked gate or three - nice area and no cars! I’m with you, way too cold, nice and quiet though. The table was pretty nifty. Wow, a million gallon filter, that’s a lot of gallons! A **** fine looking knife, the crisscross is cool too! Well, MedicineMan, I’m a bit tired after watching that. It was a pretty decent distance you covered there and, as BlazeAway would say, a “supur” trip report – thanks for showing it!

    Thanks guys!
Shug, that was my first time using it as a gravity filter and it is fast! I remember when Hangout showed us his set up but didn't remember how fast it was.
I would carry the syringe with it just in case you need to back flush.
Brucie-yes we are blessed to be so close that Great Smokies, Grayson Highlands and the Roan system....those three alone could provide a life time of exploration.
I missed the 'crisscross' though? Trying to think what that could be-something Ozzie maybe? Still waiting on my serpent vid!
Next week we're headed to a serpent infested area, maybe I'll get lucky!

Yes, blessed indeed you are! Three places and a life time of exploring, that’d be great! What I mean by the crisscross is the groovy patterns on your knife. That serpent infested area sounds great! Good luck with getting lucky. I found a snake for you, not yesterday, but the day before. I tickled its tail and got the tickle on film. Found one yesterday too, but cuz I didn’t film it (not quick enough), it doesn't count. Might be a week or two or three before I post the video. I’m going on another walk tomorrow, a 3 to 5 day job. Then, if I survive that, I’ll probably be going on an overnighter. It takes me about a week to put all the pieces of the video together.

Woohoo to getting out especially the 3-5 day event...in that time span one can forget the real world-its just a jolt coming back. What area are you to hike in, so I can google and hike sympethetically with you?
If we see a serpent it will most likly be a water mocassin or an eastern diamondback...for the snakes in the U.S. neither of these is good to get a real bite from so there will be no tail tickling by me.
Crisscross=checking, OK got it That's not my type of knife--will barter it when we go Mad Max here in the US, I like the bushcraft knives more but Morris really does a wonderful job on blade and sheath IF you can stand the 9-10 month wait time
OK Brucie, good walkabout the billibong to ya!

Yeah, should be good! The jolt won’t be. Copy and paste the following into Google:

    Moreton Island QLD 4025, Australia

The boat leaves at 8:30 AM tomorrow. There are two types of sea snakes that live around the island. The NPWS say to watch out for them as you walk along the beach, cuz they wash up on the beach – they’re super deadly! There’s a push bike called Diamondback. Oh, go on, snakes really enjoy a good tail tickling. You said when (Max), not if. Sad state of affairs! I don’t think I could wait 9 months, that’s a long time. You’ve got the lingo down... walkabout, billabong. lol Speaking of, I had better start getting packed.

Max is a mathematical certainty, serpents won't care.

Just googled pics of Moreton-BEAUTIFUL, I'd risk serpents to walk that beach. Enjoy Brucie!

I've seen a lot of sea snakes washed up on the beach, particularly early morning.

Moreton Island sounds great. I've never been there, some say it's similar in some ways to Fraser Island. Fraser Island I've been to a lot. It's handy when you live across the water from Fraser Island.

Enjoy your hike over at Moreton Island, See ya the following week for our overnight hike.
