Up The Rim to Milk Ranch

Samuel JD and I went out to the Geronimo Trail again, by Pine, Az. Up to Turkey Springs, then Slack packed up the West Webber Trail to top of Milk Ranch Point. Had Snow on Top, Rim Road still closed, had it to ourselves. Nice views. Sammy had his Evernew alky stove set up doing the twiggy fire, Too much work for me. Temp 75*/41* nice.

What a weekend, a 2000' elev. gain to the top of Milk Ranch what a great time. Theres nothing better than hanging literally in the piney woods. The first attempt at a twiggy fire taught a lesson or two. Using the Appalachian Evernew setup the tinier the sticks the faster they burn the better the flame imo. What Gnome thats trip number two this month now in to April looking at Barbershop canyon loop and elk horns on the ground. Been browsing through the photos there Steve and found more than one picture where hikers ran in to horn's.

Some really great views! I have seen that little Evernew burner and it can take some getting used to!
