The names rooster, avid summer camper and backpacker (never often enough) and I'm a dedicated motivated hanger. I'm planning a thruhike of the AT in 2013 and just bought my ull circuit backpack. I'm thrilled beyond expression and every day that passes the excitement grows. I have a cheap hammock setup with a blue all-purpose tarp that works. It'll too heavy for a thruhike. I'm going to be making my own tarp and bugnet with an innovated design ill share with you all for feedback. For giggles ill mostlikely make an extra set of everythin for practice and incase of malfunction on the trail.
I've learned so much just through the research portion of hammocking and i feel strongly that buy going down the DIY road you have a much better understanding of your gear and can create a bond with your equipment much like you do with a car.
Tips with working with silnylon would be greatly appreciated. Please n thanks!
See you on he trail,
Roosta'
