I sure would love to attend this, but a 10 hour drive?, ouch!

Exactly what are the dates for this event? A couple of posts mention arriving on Thursday; the festival is Saturday and Sunday - just in case, you know?

Also, you may want to get this event added to the HF calendar. I only stumbled across this post. It might get more attention if it was added there.

    Here's to 70° days and 50° nights!

I taught school for Grayson County back in 1989-90. I ended up driving all over the place including the little school up on Mt. Rogers, to teach music to elementary kids. It is beautiful country up there, and I wish I could go, but I have a week long trip planned for early October. I'd love to hang with a big group of hammockers! Maybe next time. Have fun everyone!

I've been mostly absent from HF lately... partly because of trying to do a couple home improvements, but I'm glad this thread is seeing some action now!

Just a little more than a month away!

It looks like I'm going to be able to get Thurs off from work, so I hope to be at the group site around noon.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Hope you decide to make the trip. I feel like I've already met you because of looking at all the MAHHA pictures

Wish you could have made it Hiknhanger. Maybe next time.
Beautiful country to work in. I spent some time working in that area on some of the many "Sides Christmas Tree Farms".

Slowhike, I see you say you're going to get to the group site on Thursday--on the calendar RockDawg69 says that if we get there prior to Friday that we'll need to camp along the AT. Do we have the group site for Thursday night as well? I'm trying to decide whether to come on up on Thursday or wait till Friday.
Glad to see more activity here. Can't wait to be there.

Most likely you will be able to stay at the group site but it will cost you something. That's why I said staying on the AT is an option with no cost. Slowhike may have some "pull" with the Rangers for a Thursday stay at the group site.
The reservation for the HF group is Friday thru Sunday at no cost to us.

See the three spread sheets at the bottom of this thread's post.
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=49857
    Spread sheets for...
    Attendees
    Meal Planning
and for those wanting to take part in the Hammock Demo on Sat. It will be from 9am till 5pm, but as long as we have plenty of hammockers hanging around the demo area to answer questions, others will have a chance to wander around & check out the festivities (food, live music, crafts, making apple butter & molasses, etc)
