Plans have changed a little. I'm still looking at doing a trip on the FHT this weekend but only looking at knocking out a section hike. FLRider and I are now looking at knocking this out July 1st-3rd with the 4th as an "opps, we bit off too much too soon" day. I broke my camera so there will not be pictures or video of the trip this weekend, but I will do a trip report.

An update on this weekend: Anyone who would like to go may join me at the Upper Whitewater Falls parking lot at 8:30am-9am. I plan on hiking from there until I get to the campsite at the Toxaway River. I plan on hiking out to the Laurel Valley trail head on Saturday. This would be 19.3 miles on Friday and 13.3 miles on Saturday. I hope to be out of the woods by 3pm which I think is very doable. not sure where you are coming from or what your travel directions are....
but 26 Eastbound in NC has been closed due to a sulfuric acid spill...it's been causing lots of delays...the spill was in Hendersonville b/t Flat Rock and Saluda....closed indefinately.

I'm glad you're doing this hike. I'm starting at Laurel Valley and doing a yo-yo to White Water and back the 17th-20th. Look forward to your trip report on trail conditions. We've had some pretty good storms lately so I'm sure there are a few blow downs. Have a safe trip.
I'm back from the hike. I'll post a video and report in the appropriate forum as soon as I am rested and edit the video. I'll leave this thread open for anyone interested in joining FLRider and me July 1-4. Friday ended up being 25.6 miles.
