So what is the overall plan for this trip. I may have to be in California the week prior to Memorial weekend.
Saturday 26th-Monday 28th on the MRT?
grimtongue dont forget the camp shoes we got 5 inches of rain here yesturday so things are going to be soggy. Going out to check trail conditions at day break today.
welcome to planet earth no one gets out alive
Thanks Wildcrafter! I was gonna leave them at home too as I usually only bring "camp shoes" if I am going to play in the water and I feel it may be too cold for that yet.
just noticed on my calander i will be in florida that weekend sorry guys wish i could make it
Two weeks to go then it's 3 full days spent hiking & hanging in the woods and boy let me tell you it's a much needed hike & hang. It's been one month since my last vist to the woods. My ETA is still noon on Friday if I don't leave Thursday night after work which I am thinking about doing.
has it been determined where the start is and which day? it being a loop trip, has it been defined so people know where to jump in and out if they are joining? I'm still trying to work it in.

Friday Night Seaton Creek USFS CG.... Lots of trees and low usage, should be safe starting here even Memorial Weekend
Friday night meet at Seaton creek campground. Sat Night Hike down to Slage Creek Area and off trail camp near Manistee River, plenty of trees for the choosing. Peeps arriving Sat could park at Slage Creek TH if needed and join us at the hang site. I'll have GPS coodinates avail...
Sun, those needing to head out can head back to cars, those pushing on can head over to NCT and hike up to Pine Barrens, near Marilla TH for the night. I'll have GPS coodinates avail...
Mon, 2 hr hike out to cars at Seaton Creek...
I've done to MRT/NCT several times, this would be a nice easy pace over three days, really nice trail and lots of options for off trail camps. Sat night is a nice spot about 1/2 mile or so off trail, Sun might need moving depending on amount of backpackers on trail but there are other options in the area...
Cool, Thanks for the update. I am trying to get out of working on that Friday. I will see what takes place.
PS. Paul the new quilt looks great. I will get some pics up in the other UGQ thread hopefully tonight.
