I have used mason line woolies for guy lines and still keep a longer set for porch mode extenders. They work great, I have never had any problems with adjusting this system.
I like to use UCRs for my tarp stake outs.
Go to my profile and look at my pictures - you can see UCRs in action.
One problem I have had with ANY kind of loop on tarp tie outs is tangling when setting up the tarp.
Not anymore, I slide each UCR up flush to the tarp prior to stowing and lines fall free when setting up for the next hang. Works great.
Happy Trails.

I'm experimenting with whoopies on door and pannel tie-outs, but only cause they also have shockcord attached. Thus far this hasn't lead to any ceasing of the bury. This is with dynaglide & Lashit though. Might be a different story with this 1.2mm stuff.

I have attached a pic. of the whoopie, I guess I tossed the tool in the trash. But it is called a threader. Here is a link:http://www.jsflyfishing.com/cgi-bin/...-Threader-5-12

Is there any concern with the strength of the line, in either configuration, with high winds....say 25 mph.. Ive had zing it break before. Granted I had it too tight. Just curious.
I have always used cheapo plastic line tensioners from Campmor for about 2 bucks per 8 in a pack. When I get my cuben tarp..going to use some of Zpacks Line Loc 3's with loops on them and see how they do. I enjoy playing with the tarp and being able to adust my lines. If I get tired of them will probably go back to knots as nothing to tieing and untieing a knot and super easy. As far as using line, I have been using 2mm glow wire from Lawson's that is rated at 250lb breaking strenght and so far have tested it overnite all nite long in a stormy more than 40mph gusting windy nite and held up great with no abrasions to tarp lines or RL whatso ever..so far its been holding up nicely.
