HH stock stuff sack into "speed sack"

I just saw a picture a guy had up of his HH stuff sack that comes with the hammock used on his suspension like a speed sack.

Question is did he just cut a hole in the bottom or was there some sewing to do so the fabric wouldn't fray? I would think the latter or else it wouldn't last but a trip or two.

    Seen this before anybody?

Here's how I did mine: I put a stick on nylon patch cut into a circle on the inside and outside of the bottom of the sack then melted a hole in the center with some red hot wire or something like that (it was a while ago) then randomly sewed around it by hand with some heavy thread. 2 years old or more and still going strong.

Can get a nylon patch from wal-mart? Neat idea to save about $20.

    Thanks for the reply

I think I've seen them with the camping accessories for in the neighborhood of $2 if memory serves

I did it with a grommet toolkit. Punches the right size hole and then inserted a brass grommet
