You can use a small pad underneath your feet and you'll be fine. There are many different options, Gossamer Gear, Therm-a-rest, etc.

You can't go wrong with Phoenix, HG makes awesome gear!

Besides a pad you can also use your pack underneath your legs as well.

I'm using a piece of 1/4" ccf. Using a pack is a no go for me. I'm a canoeist and the pack is usually wet on the bottom (and soaked totally if it's raining). The pad I'm using can also double as a sit pad.

I've been trying to decide between a Pheonix or an Incubator and I think a Pheonix may do well for me because of how many other things I can use a pad for. It seems that it may be worth the trade off to carry the pad as well and multi-use it.

I agree. As long as you don't have to take an entire pad. Even rolled up in my pack for a barrel frame to toss all your gear in, just doesn't feel the way I want.

I'd much rather prefer an UQ and a CCF foot pad. A piece of pad, just always turns up handy. Packs like mine, the Golite Pinnacle, you can replace the small foam back pad insert, with a similar sized piece of CCF. It gives you a thicker back pad, and will not become waterlogged and lose it's rigidity like the original insert, at a fairly insignificant weight penalty.

A little small as a sit pad for all but the minimalists, but generous enough for a foot box or killing off a case of CBS, on a cold night.
