I'm still really torn on this issue.

Made a couple of sets of Whoopie Slings. Have tree straps of differing lengths and just got a set of Dutch Buckles. Oh well I guess just keep playing.

It's just like the CTRL over vs under. Lol.

Whoopies straps and toggles that is all I have gone two on all of my setups. No other type of clips or biners.

Whoopies on an 11 foot hammock take an awful lot of otherwise good spots out of play. I have a new WL Nite Owl that is about to get webbing and cinch buckles.

I totally hear you . I starter out with straps simply because someone er generous enough to share. I know have Whoopies. I understand your point about an all in one system. Honestly I feel like my set up is also an all in one. Dutch clips ( New style ) are connected and now sewn onto my tree straps. My tree straps are larks headed onto my whoopies , Dutch whoopie hooks are spliced directly onto the whoopie. So when I set up I just wrap the tree with my straps and connect whoopie hooks to the continuous loops that are in the sewn channel. I don't have to think about it and there's nothing extra to watch out for. Everything is connected securely on one working system.

Elephant trunks are the real deal they replace the need for using toggles, they work well with my whoopies which are much lighter than any straps.

Back to rings for me. Whoopies just require so much more tree gap. I know there are ways around that, but then you kind of give up some adjustability in close quarters. Just made sense to go back to the rings. Its not that I couldnt find a place to hang, but I couldn't as easilty hang right where I wanted.

Not to mention you miss those wonderful times where your trees are almost the same distance apart as the night before. You clip to tree1, walk right to tree2, clip and be done

I love my adjustable webbing as its easy, fast to setup, keeps tighter hang spots in play (as old gringo mentioned), never moves or slides on me, and limits the number of bits and pieces.

Ever heard whoopies popping in the night? I have, might have been poor milking, but I could swear I was a few inches higher last night?!... lol.

    Ah well, HYOH.
