eno, grand trunk, or wb traveler?

I need to buy 2 first-timer hammocks for a 50+ mile backpacking trip in a few weeks and I'm considering eno, grand trunk or the wb traveler. I plan to use whoopie slings and tree straps, so the different suspensions don't concern me (I will be replacing them if needed). I like the option of the double bottom on the wb traveler (not offered on the other brands), but the other 2 brands seem to have a lot of followers. Bug screens are something I really don't need in my location. They are nice to have but not absolutely mandatory. Anyhow, I'm wondering how the three brands compare regarding durability (stretch), quality and comfort. I haven't indicated a specific grand trunk or eno model, but I will pick something that compares in size and weight with the traveler 1.1 double bottom. Since the traveler is $75 dollars and the other two are cheaper, 75 bucks defines the upper end of my price range. Thanks! I am 6 ft 250 lbs and the other person is about 135 lbs 5-8 if that helps.

I don't have a Grand Truck. But, do have an ENO DN & WB Traveler. My ENO is for house hanging. My Traveler is for hiking. Because it's liter (1.1 SL) 12.3 oz. in stuff sack,whoopies & tree huggers.
Cost: WB start at $60. SL & $75. for DL but you can get the suspension you want from them !
ENO's are $65. plus the cost of suspension !
Both are great hammock to sleep in for me

On a personal note. I like spending my money here USA

The biggest advantage to the double layer WB would be if you're using a pad, to keep it from moving around. If you have an UQ, then you'll not need it.

Keep in mind how long you have to wait. I ordered my WB two weeks ago and it still not been shipped. I have seen some posts there where people have been waiting a month. Not that it isnt worth the wait just that you have a definite date you need yours.

I lean toward the traveler because we will be using pads for bottom insulation. We are in the Southeast and during the warm months its almost too hot for backpacking. I figured we'd be OK with just pads in the Spring, especially since its been a mild winter. However, I am concerned that I won't get the travelers soon enough and that's why I'm considering the other two as alternatives. I've read that some of the cheaper hammocks have unrealistic weight limits and end up stretching quite a bit during the night if you weigh enough....I'm 250 lbs.

Thanks Boomer. I read your review a few days ago and found it helpful. I selected the WB traveler but got concerned I wouldn't get it in time for my trip. So, I started looking at alternatives and those two came up. I have the same problem with a tarp. Everything I want or like is hand sewn and I'm afraid it won't come in time.

The ENO and Grand Trunks are parachute nylon which I find creates a bath tub feel. Not a problem for relaxing and lounging or even sleeping for short periods but the WB is definitely flatter and may be better for sleeping for a whole night. I have slept nights in my ENO and my Traveler (when I still had it) and IMO the WB was better for overnights.

I would ask Brandon at Warbonnet directly "Will I receive my order by X date?"

WB Traveler would be my first choice, followed closely by the ENOs. The nice thing about ENOs is they are available at all kinds of retailers, so you wouldn't have to worry about the date. I also really like the material feel of the ENOs. All of our vehicles have an ENO in them for those times when we have an extra minute for a surprise nap.

I'll let others speak of Grand Trunk; I don't use them anymore.
